The Island's Media Vault
Hi, this is the page where I gush unbashedly(?) about the media that I've come to love throughout the years. Media being an umbrella term because I don't know what else to call a collection of video games, cartoons, animes, music, books, movies, television shows etc. so there you have it. I want it to serve as a diary of sorts but hey, maybe I'll make friends who like the same things I do or did, that would be awesome wouldn't it?
W.I.T.C.H.
Oh boy, where do I even start with this one? A little bit of a tangent, but I noticed the media I discover by myself, as opposed to someone recommending it to me or just by the virtue of being too popular and inescapable, tends to stick with me and have the most impact on me as a person, and W.I.T.C.H. is near the top of the list for me. I gravitated towards it because of the art style and the cool powers but I came to love the girls and their unique personalities and their dynamics. When the first season ended I was sad but glad I got to watch such a cool cartoon, then some weeks they start airing a season 2 and I'm like wait what???? Are you for freaking real??? I was so ecstatic to see the girls on a WHOLE NEW JOURNEY and the power upgrades they got?? I was geeking out the whole time. Truly a show that mattered to me. Btw you can only imagine my shock and confusion when I found out it was based on a comic and how vastly different it was to the show, so naturally I didn't really get into it tbh but I still enjoyed the art and illustrations.
Will was kinda the one I saw myself in, even though I acted nothing like her, I was a goody two shoes lmaooo. I guess I enjoyed the leader role more than I let on, then again I could see the resemblance between me and Hay Lin. Cornelia was the total opposite of me, like in every way. Irma was the funniest to me which is funny in itself because someone said the exact same thing about her in the show, Taranee was the same except her humour is much more underrated, she had such good comebacks.
